When I picked up my first waxing strip over 17 years ago, I never imagined this career would teach me so much about confidence, connection, and care.
Waxing isn’t just a beauty service, it’s personal. It’s about helping people feel comfortable in their skin (and yes, sometimes having a few good laughs along the way).
Here are some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned after nearly two decades in the treatment room:
1. Confidence Grows in the Wax Room
Waxing is never just about smooth skin, it’s about self-assurance. I’ve seen nervous first-timers transform into confident regulars. That moment when someone looks in the mirror and says, “I feel amazing”? That’s everything.
2. Every Body Is Different, and Beautiful
No two clients are the same. Different hair types, skin tones, sensitivities, and that’s what keeps my job interesting! My goal is always to tailor each service for comfort, safety, and the best results possible.
Over time, I’ve learned that “perfect” doesn’t exist but feeling good in your skin does.
3. Laughter Makes Everything Better
Let’s be honest, waxing can feel a little awkward! But laughter changes everything. Some of my favorite moments are the ones where we both end up giggling mid-appointment.
Like the time a client sneezed right as I pulled a strip, we laughed so hard we had to pause the service. (She was fine, and we still joke about it years later!)
4. Prep + Aftercare = Long-Lasting Results
The real secret to great waxing? Teamwork. What happens before and after your appointment matters as much as the wax itself.
Exfoliate gently, moisturize regularly, and follow aftercare, your skin will thank you! When clients take care of their skin, the difference is night and day.

5. Trust Is Everything
Waxing is personal, you’re literally putting your trust (and comfort!) in someone’s hands. That’s why I take every appointment seriously.
Over time, many of my clients have become friends. We’ve shared stories, laughs, even life milestones. That trust means the world to me, it’s the heart of this business.
6. The Learning Never Stops
After 17+ years, I’m still learning every day, new products, better techniques, improved ways to care for different skin types. The beauty industry moves fast, and staying curious keeps me passionate.
Final Thoughts
Waxing has taught me that beauty isn’t about being flawless, it’s about feeling comfortable, confident, and cared for.
So here’s to 17 years (and counting!) of laughter, learning, and smooth results.Thank you to every client who’s trusted me along the way.
